A Message to All
THE BEST, THE SAVERS AND THE SOLUTION
We are the best the world has, the solution of problems the world faces and our community today ,and savior of many lives. Today we face many problems in our world like climate change, war, violence, famine and genocide and we always tell us that the solution is with the Secretary General of United Nations, Presidents of G8 Countries or the CEO of human rights organisations or other people will find the solution! No, we are the ones who has the solution and every thing start by me and you. We need Don’t watch things happening and do nothing. People who are dying in Darfur - children of 3, 4 or 5 years old are dying because of hunger and lack of protection; Girls and women who are like you or me are being raped – they have dreams like us, maybe to become a doctor, a business man or even a president, some are the same age as us or our brothers and sisters. Girls are raped because they don’t have anyone to defend them and remember they don’t choose that to happen. We can watch movies, enjoy life with our family and friends, keep busy with our studies - to achieve our dreams - busy with our work to make a lot of money and to save money for our future and our children. This is not bad, but tell me; do you want to see your children suffering like the children we see every day in the news on BBC or CNN? Maybe one day you will not be there to protect them and people like you and I will not help them because they are busy or on holiday. Tell me if we continue like that, if it is not someone from your family or your close friend, will you care? What future do we really plan for our children?
For me I think the big problem is that often we like to push things over to other people who we think will solve the problem. However, you don’t need to be rich or to be born into a rich family, you don’t need to be a star or your dad or mum to be the CEO of a big Company, to be a president or a minister in order to help save a life of someone - even you don’t need to do massive deeds to help someone - no, you just need to do something now even if it is small and it doesn’t matter who you are or where you are from. Many small actions added together will make a big difference.
When Dr James Smith, the CEO of Aegis Trust started Aegis, some people didn’t understand him or believe he will do it, but today Aegis is saving the lives of millions of people, helping protect people at risk of genocide and support survivors and other people who struggle with its consequences.
When people like Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King and others have sacrificed their life to bring change to things which mattered to them, some people were thinking they are crazy, but today they are our heroes and have done much. Let me tell you, we may not have their position, but those people are like me and you – ordinary people doing extraordinary things. We can make history as we seek change to save and protect the lives of vulnerable people. As Obama said; "Everywhere we look there is work to be done” and I agree with him, but it is us who will do that work, together, as we move towards never again becoming a real never again, as we help children who are dying near of us. Finally, let me just remind you as I began that we are the best our world has, we can be the solution of many problems and the savers of lives.
I wish you all the best and I pray that you understand my message. Please send me your view and ideas.
Thank you,
